38 old female with 6 months to spare, US based

Dear future Captain,

I have no sailing experience (other than being a passenger). I am available from May to December 2014 to help you as crew. I am open to short or long trips.

Paid position is preferable for long trips (going back to school in January). Closer to the US preferable if I have to find my own way there.

About me
(1). I'm a fluent Spanish speaker and if we sail anywhere Spanish speaking I can make life a lot easier
(2). I speak some French, got me by in Tahiti, again can help
(3). I'm taking a hiatus from a nursing degree, so have a few nursing skills which could come in handy
(4). I love board games, own a few. I play euchre, canasta.
(5). I'm educated, travelled extensively, love to read - so I could be an interesting conversationalist
(6). I have some competence in the kitchen
(7). I can mix a few drinks
(8). I'm not a smoker and prefer non-smoking
(9). Social and moderate drinker
(10). Open water diver 15+ years
(11). Can tutor children in math and science

I'm kind, understanding, open to new ideas and points of view.

Hi,

I have owned boats since the 80's lived aboard in Florida for 6 years, took my boat through the Caribbean for 1.5 years.

I am In my native Colorado, and planning on going to S. Pacific in 1 month, purchase a 40 footish boat, and cruiser on open ended schedule. Feel free to reply here or contact me @ dougcooley1957@yahoo.com, if this sounds like what might fit for you.

Sincerely,
Doug

Where are you? Please see my ad under crew wanted for Annapolis to Connecticut...I would not count on a paid position unless it is for a specific duty other than simply crewing i.e. laundry, cooking, tutoring etc

Hey,

Drum Thunder is a 33' cutter rigged, steel sailboat and bound for the Bahamas next week from Marathon. It's just myself and dog, Budders. There's really no agenda, at this point. We'll cross to Alice Town and head over to the Exumas for the month of May and into June and return. After, We'll be headed for Guatemala. Feel free to call me anytime...pete 305-766-0918

Re: 38 old female with 6 months to spare, US based

Hello Sailgeek,

I am interested in one crew conversant in Spanish from now until August, possibly longer. Presently lying at Port Antonio, Jamaica and will sail to Cartagena, arriving mid-summer. Plan to sail along the north coast of Jamaica, then on to the Caymans and from there a route TBD. 42' newer, clean Valiant. References required and available. If interested, look in to flights to Montego Bay in about ten days and reply here or to sailboat dot gillean at gmail dot com.

Cheers,
Douglas
