Crew Positions are available on "Kelly IV", an
Endeavour 32
sloop, sailing from Lake Erie late May 2011, through the Welland
Canal, then across
Lake Ontario, down the St. Lawrence River, around the Gaspe' Peninsula, through the Northumberland and Canso Straits, into the Bras D'or Lake, then south along the Atlantic Coast of
Nova Scotia and on to
Maine and south, eventually ending up in the
Bahamas. Since this
cruise is a "Fun Adventure", we'll be taking our time. While it is possible we'll make the
Bahamas by late 2011, it is also possible that we'll take a couple seasons or more, leaving the
boat on the hard whenever it gets too cold to continue.
1 or 2 crew positions are available for a total of 3 on board. Do keep in mind that we're cruising "because it's fun"! This means that you may pick a
destination OR you may pick a time frame. Unfortunately, you may
not choose both variables for this
cruise. In other words, you may decide you would like to cruise the Bras D'or Lake in Cape Breton Island of
Nova Scotia. To do this you should be flexible enough to either wait for "Kelly IV" to arrive or she may already have been at the Bras D'or Lake for several days before you get there. If the
weather prior to your arrival was particularly favorable, "Kelly IV" may arrive early. On the other hand, if the breeze is contrary, you may have to wait until the
weather supports a safe, comfortable arrival.
Your other option is to select a time frame, but be prepared to travel to wherever "Kelly IV" happens to be at that time. When your time aboard "Kelly IV" is complete, then be prepared to travel from wherever the weather and the
Captain determine Kelly's stopping point to be on that specific day.
You may decide to sail "Kelly IV" for a few days, a week, a couple weeks, a month, or whatever arrangement suits us both.
