Great boats! Things to watch for: The head liners are foam backed and the foam deteriorates. The Seacocks are Marelon and will break if you try to shut them. They came with Yanmars and one other engine (volvo or perkins?). The Yanmars are likely the best (although both mine failed so maybe not a deal breaker) The V drive shaft setup is great! The 37 is almost as big inside! You will likely not find a blister anywhere.

Thanks Cheechako for the input. Happy to hear about any known issues/items from all TPI owners.

Every boat has it's issues. The fact that these were built by TPI and have V drives instead of Saildrives is a big plus. The built in davits are a dream come true. I can attest that the boat will carry as much weight as a 47 monohull and still be much faster. The foam problem is messy, all the little foam beads rub off all over when you pull the liner down. I ended up just vacuuming the loose stuff off the backing and reglueing it, but marine carpet would have been a more permanent solution.. Not sure what the answer for the seacocks is. Fortunately there arent too many below the waterline as I remember. I replaced one and I'll tell you, the seacock itself will never break or corrode, It's super tough stuff, but the handles or stems break off because the plastic swells or seizes and wont turn.

Abaco... thanks, I've seen this one on yacht world for some time. Looking for a 42 though.

Any TPI 42 owners looking to conduct a FSBO transaction are welcome to PM.
