WinchRite - New in box

I brought this home from the 2014 boat show">Miami boat show with the intent of buying the accessory that fit under it, ie; The Boat this summer or fall.

We now have realized that due to multiple factors The Boat and related cruising will never happen for us.

I charged it, oohed and aahed over it, pulled the trigger a few times and that is all. This works in both directions so it works on two speed winches.

Extra winch bit included.

New in box.
I would like to see at least $400.00 for it.
Will mail/UPS or whatever in continental US. Elsewhere we may have to discuss.

FWIW, the Milwaukee right angle drill does work in both directions...

OH.

I have heard the bit will "unscrew".

Perhaps a mod will allow removal of my "false advertising".

Re: WinchRite - New in box

The Ultimate Cranker takes care of the set screw breaking in reverse - it has a second screw that fastens from the side relieving the torque on the end set screw.

Re: WinchRite - New in box

I just bought a Winchrite and I, (and the wife), think it's the best thing since sliced bread.
We looked at the Millwaukee right angle drill, but it's much too heavy and cumbersome for us.
$400 is a good price for a brand new unit.

Yea.
It is pretty depressing to find that one of the things on the bucket list, for multiple reasons, simply will not happen. I am in a state of depression one minute thinking we can still do it and the next minute looking at the realities of our situation.

I guess I should post on the "Where are all the wannabe's thread cause I think I still am and always will be a wannabe.........Dammit.

PS, I have a 25 lb Delta for sale too. Who wants one of those I can't imagine though!

Re: WinchRite - New in box

A winchrite is a great tool to have for us older sailors. Grab it out of the holder at a moments notice fully charged and weather proof. I'm sure my partner will be able to hoist me aboard no matter the conditions were I to somehow end up in the cold PNW water.

Re: WinchRite - New in box

Would you post to New Zealand for $400 all up.
It would help to to state that it's second hand and worth less than $ 250 including shipping then there's no import tax.

Re: WinchRite - New in box

Winchrite is a great tool! On Ceil I use a Ryobi right angle drill (battery powered). The drill is light, has a long handle for leverage and the 18V lithium battery runs for a very long time. The drill is, of course also great as a - well drill... for <$100 US it's also kinda expendable..

My primary use is on the anchor winch. Ceil has a manual winch on the bow and using the handle to pump the anchor rode up 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch gets old. The Ryobi (with a winch wrench inserted of course!) makes short work of it for me.

While I'm plugging them, you can get a combo kit sometimes on sale a the big box hardware stores for very little that includes drill, skill saw or recip saw (sawzall) which all use the same 18V lithium battery. Best buy from my perspective.
