Re: Westerbeke W30 Parts
Hi Mike,
The starter has 10 teeth. Photos attached. I am asking $99 for it, plus the cost to have UPS pack and ship it, since it's quite heavy. Not sure where you're located, but it would probably add another $100. Or you could pick it up in Bethesda MD in December or in Portsmouth VA in January.
Thanks!
The Way

Re: Westerbeke W30 Parts
Here are the Westerbeke W30 parts still available and their prices. All parts are used but in good working condition unless otherwise noted. You pay shipping from Bethesda, MD (from Portsmouth VA after December). Photos available if you request them.
Injectors (4) (cleaned and adjusted): $1,199.00. I will provide an invoice from Industrial Diesel, Inc., of Norfolk, VA, documenting the work done on them.
Starter and solenoid: $99.00 (see photos and shipping info earlier in this thread)
Oil cooler (new, still in box, Trans Atlantic Diesels part number SOC-101): $89.00
Thermostat housing bronze: $49.00
Alternator: $59.00

Re: Westerbeke W30 Parts
I want the starter and selenoid if they are working properly. How can we do this transaction?

I will now sell all these parts for $750.00. This includes shipping within the continental US. I will be leaving on March 20, so it must be done by then.
Thanks,

Re: Westerbeke W30 Parts
by any chance do you have the air cleaner/silencer? My engine (a 4-91 from 1975) seems to have a basic air filter squashed down by a metal plate right to the intake head. I see no part numbers in any catalog, just the 'silencer'.
it was never on your list of parts, but presumably you started with a whole engine ;-)

Sorry, Matt, mine was jury rigged also. I found a circular air filter element at Napa and squashed it into the oval shape and wired it. However, it worked just fine for only a few dollars. I feel your pain -- Westerbeke wants hundreds of $$$ for what they consider a replacement!!

Re: Westerbeke W30 Parts
Matt,
Some models of the Westerbeke 4-91 used air filter 16010 like you described attached to the motor with a mounting plate on the top. It used a paper element surrounded by a metal screen. Those don't seem to be available now but a replacement like this one at https://www.discountmarinesource.com...010-16010.aspx can be used.
You can Google Westerbeke 16010 to find the lowest price.

Re: Westerbeke W30 Parts
Matt,
Google Westerbeke 16010. Some models of the 4-91 used the type filter you described with a paper element. While this style is no longer available, replacement elements are.
You can see an example at: https://www.discountmarinesource.com...010-16010.aspx

Sorry for the repeat. Didn't think the first one went through.
