Wanted: Used mast for 12' cat-rig sailboat
Hey everybody I am brand new to sailing and am building a GLENL-13 style boat with my dad. I am looking for a used mast with or without rigging, sail, etc. in or around Texas. Anyone with any advice or equipment for sale would be most appreciated. Thanks guys!

Aloha 101,
Try eBay, type in "sailboat mast" under title and description. Also try some of the boat yards and sailing schools. Sometimes they have salvageable equipment. There are a lot of used sails available by mail order. Do a web search. I've had good luck with all the things you are looking for through marinas and eBay and Bacon and Associates used sails.
I had use of a GlenL 17 foot powerboat that really was well put together. Great kits. Good luck.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Sailing 101 - I would suggest that you add a bit of info to your profile, so that people know where you hail from and can direct you toward places local to you.
another source of mast(s) - and one that I used, is I went to my local irrigation pipe distributer and purchased an aluminum pipe of the right diameter and lenght (it was, for them, scrap). I then bought a three foot length of PVC pipe that fit INSIDE of the 'mast' to use as stiffing and structural support. Worked GREAT!

sounds good and everything, but aren't there other things that go on the mast (eyelets for sail or something). I am very ignorant about mast construction and design.

Aloha Again 101,
There are tangs, shrouds, turnbuckles, stays, masthead cranes, etc, etc.
You can get all those things from Dwyer Mast Co.
https://www.dwyermast.com/families.a...cat1Name=Masts or you can shop around at marinas, boatyards, sailing schools, etc..
If you click on the Bacon Sails link that I sent before you'll find their website.
Happy boatbuilding!!
JohnL
