wanted - cng tank(s) NYC area

I'm looking for some CNG tanks - upgrading the boat to gas, and can't/don't want to go LPG. I currently have a regulator & convertable stove, but need a CNG tank to get into the exchange system at brewer's here in new england. Buying into the exchange system with a new tank is ridiculously expensive, and your brand new tank just goes into a pool, where you get a non-new tank in exchange......

Anyone have any sitting around?

Re: wanted - cng tank(s) NYC area

Most tank exchanges in the northeast are LP not CNG. Why not just get an extra LP tank and get them refilled when you need them? There are plenty of places that refill tanks in the NY metro area. U-Haul in Stamford does it, a long walk or short cab ride less than a mile from the marinas. Even if you cook every meal you won't go through more than about 10 pounds every 2-3 weeks. Unless you're going to heat a live-aboard you should be fine with 20 pounds aboard; two 10's or a 10 and a 20.

It takes me about 4-6 weeks of cooking (not every meal) to use up 10 pounds.

I've got one I will sell but you have to come get it in Southern Maryland.

I'll sweeten the deal. I have an entire CNG system: gimbaled 2-burner range, thermostatically-controlled oven w/ 3 tanks, hoses, & regulator. Make me an offer, come pick it up in Southern Maryland. It's currently installed in an Out Island 41. I'd like to switch to propane as it's easier to find. The system I'm offering is fully functional. You can test it before accepting it.
