My, what a big pitch you want...
I'm curious as I seem to have a 20"D X 20"P prop and I am grossly over pitched. I can only get 1600
rpm
(40 hp) at 7kts!
I would be about 15tonne, 44'LOA and 75hp at 2500
rpm
, which is similar to you.
You are going to use a 26"D X 20"P for 85hp?
I am planning to get the prop repitched down to 14-16".

i replaced a 26/20 feathering prop, with my spare fixed prop 26/20 so i just want a backup, always nice to have a spare. I'm 45.5
LOA
at 18 tons with an 85hp.

Sounds to me like there is a different
gearbox
ratio between these two boats

Gear box 2.5:1 to 3:1...
I really wanted to check the accuracy of my calculations for repitching my
propeller
with some real world data.
If your
gearbox
is in the range of 2.5:1 to 3:1 then my calculations are on track.
