Re: Want to Buy 44' to 48' bluewate cutter rigged monohull

Have you considered a cutter rigged Stevens 47CC? A good friend of mine recently completed an 8 year circumnavigation on one.....

Re: Want to Buy 44' to 48' bluewate cutter rigged monohull

HI
I have a IP 420 (2002) for sale. Fully equipped as we have just finished 6 years in the Med with her. Now lying Swanwick Marina UK.
She is in pristine condition with new Sails and electronics etc.
I am a charter skipper and spent many years sailing and racing a large number of boats whilst deciding what one would be the best for us to sail short handed and would provide the safety off shore that I was looking for.
If you're interested let me know.
Martin

Re: Want to Buy 44' to 48' bluewate cutter rigged monohull

I don't think it has a W/D but there is a really, really nice Kelly Pererson 46 that just went up for sale in La Paz. My friends got first look at it as it was their "ideal" boat. Looked at it and decided it was too big for them. Owner kept it very nice.

We have a S&S Fuji40 that we just listed. Excellent headroom, new cape horn spectra Watermaker, it is an aft cockpit but feels like a center as there is a large aft state room plus just all the other info you requested. No washer/dryer but could easily turn one of the lockers into one as there is so much storage.

Hello Namaste - John and Cindy. This is Joe. I was on Sonomara with Brien and Kaye on the CohoHoHo and spent some time with you in Newport and then south. Your Fuji was a beautiful boat. Incredible woodwork down below and it had the most headroom I can remember on that size boat. The high freeboard allows that. Good luck selling.

Well here's a boat I have known since I first met them in SMX in 2001 anchored next to me in the Lagoon.
The boat is fantastic and the owners have kept her up together..

Here is a short list of hull models we have a strong interest: Tayana 47/48, Caliber 47, Island Packet 420 & 45, Cabo Rico 44, Pacific Seacraft 44, Bristol 47, Irwin MKII 46 & 52, Gulfstar 43 & 47&50 Sailmasters, Northwind 44, Kelly Petterson 46.

We require a shoal draft, not to exceed 6' at cruising weight - preference is closer to 5'. Mid-cockpit is ideal but will consider aft. Cutter rig with all lines leading to cockpit.

We plan cruising off the grid for long periods, so equipment that enables self-sufficiency such as solar, wind and watermaker is high on our criteria list.

This is so exciting. Taswell 49 won't make to your list I guess otherwise the one here in Singapore is a sweet one

Ta Shing Taswell 49 « Yachts Asia.

After owning our boat for 1 year, the Admiral took a look at taswell and said we should have bought taswell 49' . Oh well we always need another 5 feet

ps. Simon, the broker, was very helpful in showing me the boat again.

We are looking for the new owner for our Wauquiez Centurion 49, 1991. Cutter, hydraulics on genoa, main and winches. 3 cabins, large saloon. Fantastic condition - may be one of the freshest Centurions on the market.

Re: Want to Buy 44' to 48' bluewate cutter rigged monohull

Not sure if you're still in the market but we've decided it's time to sell our Brewer 12.8. She misses the mark in some ways (we have a centerboard) and she's only 42' but Practical Sailor says she'll take you anywhere in the world you want to go. Our 2012 75 Yanmar only has 900 hours on it and the standing rigging including chain plates is new this season. We've replaced or upgraded much since 2011 when we bought her. If your interested you can contact me at jcdexter9@msn.com for pictures and more information.

Re: Want to Buy 44' to 48' bluewate cutter rigged monohull

My wife and I are big fans of our Hylas. We have a 2003 54 but you can get a 44-47 mid 1990s for your price range. They are incredible yachts and can meet all of your requirements, though you may have to add some of the features like water maker. But a Hylas can handle all those systems and will keep you and your wife safe.

BTW, I also had the same requirement - wife didn't want to go camping. I leveraged that (and some financial success) to getting a Hylas 54 which we absolutely love an sail about 2000nm / summer here in Michigan.

Maybe something like this?

We have a 1984 Shannon 50 that is ketch rigged with a staysail on a club boom. Excellent blue water boat. We have own this vessel for 10 years and have continually upgraded her. Maybe this type of boat you would be interested in?

I agree that Hylas boats are very well made but the problem with a lot of them is that there is not even one dedicated shower area. If you look at the pix in this listing, there's a layout diagram that shows a walk through head with a separate shower area, but then when you look at the photos of the actual boat, they put the marine toilet in one part of the head with the shower and floor drain with sump, and the other section has the sink and mirror, so the boat was not built as depicted in the drawing. Probably a dedicated shower isn't that important to a one week charter or for a boat that's only used on weekends, but I can't imagine living aboard a boat this big for weeks at a time and have to wipe down the whole marine head area after each shower. The boat, as drawn, would be fine as a liveaboard, but not as built with no dedicated shower.
