I doubt that you will get many offers. The nature of boat insurance makes it tough. All recreational policies exclude commercial use and deem renting or leasing commercial use. If you could buy a single commercial policy the cost would be astronomical. Most rental boats (aka charters in the boating trade) are covered by a multi fleet policy.

It might be somewhat similar to an individual renting or leasing you their car. I have never heard of it for much the same reasons.

What kind of terms are do you have in mind?

i'd be happy to rent with a significant deposit (ie the price of the boat)
the rent would just be their "option" to buy.

return the boat in the exact condition(or better) and deposit is returned minus the rent.
return the boat in an unsatisfactory condition(based on terms very favorable to seller) then you just keep the boat. (ie u bought it)
