For Sale: W27 Diesel Needs Home

I have just repowered and have a running Westerbeke 27 diesel with a 1 year old ZF10 2:1 gear. Lots of spares (2 alts, injectors, etc). The engine runs well but has low compression in the #1 cyl.

Any handy folks out there need a cheap diesel? Make an offer!

what are you thinking for $ .I like to have a spare engine that I can rebuild over the winter but not a lot of money

Mike, , The current package has a new trans, (2) 100 amp alt. (4) spare rebuilt injectors, New rawwater pump (500$ last fall!) and numerous other spares. The engine needs a ring job and perhaps a piston on # 1 cyl. I would be willing to break up the package and sell the items separate if someone (Like you) needs only the base engine. The whole package is worth about $2000. The engine alone is less than half of that. I just spent over 10 boat bucks on a new engine and need to get some drinking money back or it will be a very dry crusing season. Any offer is welcome. I can always say no.
