I assume you are looking to buy a used stove, so I am interested on what the insurance companies expect.

I'm wondering about this too. What is it with insurance that's requiring installing a propane stove?
Upgrading from a kerosene stove?
Maybe go with alcohol as an alternative?

Wanted to convert my CNG stove to propane, but the requirement is to have thermocouples to cut off fuel.

Fiveslide, still interested in your force 10. I'll be heading south and if the unit you have looks reasonable, I could come and pick it up. If you have some pics, please forward so I can make a decision. You can email me directly at bill91126@gmail.com. Thanks and have a good day, Bill

I will. Sorry for the delay, I've not had time to get it out my shop and get the pics.

I spoke to my insurance company about my stove upgrade. They said wood, coal, deisel, alcohol or propane were all cool provided they were sold and marketed as "Marine Stoves" by a reputable manufacturer. Definitely leaves room for interpretation.
However, I assume it varies by insurance company, country and possibly even experience of the owner.

The stove ended up being a Shipmate. Model number and serial number pictured. Its dusty from being in my shop for years.

Thank you for going to the trouble of getting the stove out for my review. Tried to find info on these units without much luck. I am going to pass on this one. It may be of value to someone looking for parts.

Yes, sorry for the confusion about the maker. It had been several years since I even looked at the stove. Good luck in your search.
