Thompson / Sailrite PW301 Mini-Walker Sewing Machine

Single needle, portable, walking foot, straight stitch machine. $350. Shipping weight 43 lbs.

This is a single needle, lock stitch machine with a high lift independent upper and lower feed mechanism. Intended for straight stitching heavy and extra heavy materials, this machine is good for canvas, upholstery materials, and lightweight leather (up to 3/8" thick).

The walking foot mechanism is composed of upper and lower feed dogs which are synchronized to feed the material either forward or in reverse. Both lifting and feeding feet alternatively press the material tightly together permitting even stitiching.

This machine is similar to Sailrite's LS-1 machine. It does not have a zig-zag stitch capability.

We purchased this machine new (from Sailrite) , and used it for enclosure curtains and a sail cover for our boat, as well as for some sail repairs. It has been stored carefully in a dry closet. Sailrite services these machines.

The entire machine is metal (except for belts and that sort of thing), the case is plastic. Also included are 3 ½ packs of needles and a couple of extra bobbins and the original manual.

Shipping weight is 37 lbs.

Did it work well. Any problems? Does it have the so called Monster wheel?
And is it still available?
