More information:

The boat has an Atomic 4 that runs flawlessly.
Some portside deck repairs are recommended but price reflects this. Features Roller furling headsail, battened main sail with cover, folding prop, tiller steering with AutoHelm 2000 auto-tiller and cockpit cushions. Powered by an inboard 30 HP Atomic 4 that runs flawlessly. Accommodations include Double V-birth cabin forward, 2 - 7 foot berths aft - port and starboard. Settee seats 4 and can be converted to a double berth, Hanging locker. Inline Galley to starboard with 12 v. refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker and 2 burner stove. Private Head with lavatory. Hot and cold pressure water. PLUS 9 foot Dinghy and 5 HP outboard!! Shore power cord, depth/speed instruments and much more.

I have added 2 photos. The photo of the deck is the aft, port side. The deck is constructed of fiberglass top and bottom with a balsa wood core sandwiched in between. Over the years water got past the fiberglass and penetrated the balsa wood. Over time the port side of the deck and the port side of the cabin top got "soft". The starboard side of the boat seems solid.

2 years ago I researched a product from Wood preservation, rot repair, and restoration using epoxy resin on boats and homes. and purchased the epoxy system CPES. I drilled holes 6" apart through the top of the fiberglass and the balsa..but not through the bottom layer of fiberglass. I pulled vacuum on the deck holes for about 2 days until the moisture level was around 15%. I then injected the epoxy into the holes and let it cure for 4 days. I then injected a thicker epoxy into the holes to fill the voids between the balsa wood and the fiberglass. I then used an epoxy with filler to form an epoxy "paste" to seal the holes.

The repair firmed up the deck and stopped a small cabin leak that was in the port side aft quarter berth. My plans were to inject more epoxy in this section to fill some of the voids I missed, then repeat this whole process on the entire port deck and port cabin top.

I have about 2/3 of a gallon of the CPES left and the jig for pulling vacuum on the deck holes that go with the boat (all you need is a 5 hp shop vac). Obviously, after this work is done the decks should be painted to cover the repairs.

The photo of the hull shows my repair of deep hull scratches that occurred when the hull scraped against the dock. The dark shiny painted spot is where I applied the Awl Grip two part paint. The other marks in the photo are not damage...just dirt and streaks.

The hull was painted with an Awl Grip two part system about 25 years ago and needs to be either rubbed out or repainted.

Hope this helps to give you a clear understanding of the condition of the deck and hull.

A friend did a major wet deck repair on a C & C (what a surprise!) and they reallized that if they hadn't done it RIGHT THEN the boat probably would have lasted only about 40 more years.... It's good to fix the wet core problem, but a perfect repair isn't always necessary.
If (when) I'm looking for a second boat, I'd consider yours in a heart beat.

Not to disparage sailboatlistings, but I think the biggest factor was you had a quality boat at a "steal-me" price.

How come deals like this never show up in So. California? $5000 wouldn't buy squat out here...other than boats needing a ton of work.
