ST60 Wind Display/ST60 Close Haul Wind Display

I am located in Canada ,

my St60 wind display new out of the box never installed (purchased second hand)! makes aloud buzzing noise when connected to power, display is dead other than the loud buzzing noise, tried several places on the net to locate a new display head with no luck with people willing to ship to Canada. if anyone has a spare in working condition or has one they removed in working condition that they would like to part with I would be extremely interested. I have all ST60 instruments in a NAVpod cut for the the st60 stuck between a rock and a hard place!

Thanks

Dale

Are you sure it's connected correctly? You could ask on raymarine forum what these symptoms mean.

I don't really know how to troubleshoot these, but a buzzing alarm could be just a warning indicator.

I only connected power tot eh control head via seatalk network the transducer was not connected, when I did connect the wires the same issue was present.

all wires are connected as per the owners manual.

Re: ST60 Wind Display/ST60 Close Haul Wind Display

The NMEA power circuit in your ST-60 is fried. Just had this problem a couple of weeks ago. Do a Google search for "ST-60 Instuments Manual". There's a .PDF file out there that you can download and will walk you through the troubleshooting and repair...great document! If you are technically proficient at soldering electronic components you may be able to repair it yourself since ST-60's are no longer supported by Raymarine. The alternative is to upgrade to the i70 Raymarine MFD if your system supports Ng Seatalk or higher...Pricey though. Was able to repair our ST-60 but the owner went ahead and bought an i70...now installed as a remote in his cabin. Nice piece of kit I have to admit, and I don't care for Raymarine stuff usually.

Dale, are you looking for two separate instruments? (the wind instrument and the close hauled instrument) I just sold my boat and kept many Raymarine ST60 instruments as spares.

I purchased the ST60 wind display on Ebay...very expensive.... I would like to add the close haul if you have the display and would like to part with it....

what else did you keep for spares.

Replusted: if your regular wind instrument is of the plus variety (st60+, with rounded edges), I am interested, what are you looking to get for it? Also, do you happen to have a masthead unit?

Thank you!

Re: ST60 Wind Display/ST60 Close Haul Wind Display

Replusted, I'll keep this in mind. This is at the upper band of what you see on eBay used, not really a very good deal (at least, for the buyer). If I don't find anything cheaper I may reconsider.

Thanks again!
Anton
