This Sestrel Hand Bearing Compass was made by Henry Browne & Son, Barking & London and is considered to be the finest quality hand bearing compass in the world! It comes with the original wooden case with a clear panel in the front so that the ship's heading can be seen at a glance when the instrument is mounted in fore and aft direction. It also has a mounting bracket. An optical glass prism magnifies the image and allows the user to see both the object being sighted and the compass card bearing at the same time.
