Serpentine Belt Kit

I will be going to the Toronto International Boat Show next week, there is an exhibitor there who builts high output alternators and serpentine pulleys for popular marine engines,

I have interest in a belt kit for my Perkins Prima 50 ( Volvo MD22 engone). He has a number of them in stock and one might think they are not a big mover.

Last year the owner stated he would give a wholesale price or lower if I took four or more sets.

Question, is anybody interested in a kit for there engine, if so let me know off line as to the engine and alternator and I would see what kind of a deal I might be able to make on a group buy.

No obligation,I have some buying power I might be able to get a good price.

Here is there web site

Re: Serpentine Belt Kit

I bought a 200amp alt + serpentine belt/pulley kit from Electromaax...an excellent package, the "smart" reg is not so smart though!

The pulleys are perfectly matched to various engines. I've covered myself with 5 spare belts but I'm still on the first one after 15 months....they just don't slip!

They know this and now offer the Balmar MC-614...Balmar now offers the Electomaax pulley kits... A fair trade all around I'd say...

I have multiple installs and not a single one has a spec of belt dust.....

Re: Serpentine Belt Kit

I called them sent photos, measurements and everything they requested. Called back to see the status and haven't heard a word from them.

My engine is a Westerbeke 38B4 and I would STILL be interested in Pulleys..

Re: Serpentine Belt Kit

Sounds real interesting. I have a Universal M 50B that I've been seriously considering installing a higher output alternator along with a serpentine belt kit. Let me know what sort of price break we're looking at here. I assume payment would be made directly to the company, and they would then drop ship the unit directly to me.

Thanks in advance, if you're able to put this together for "the right price".

Re: Serpentine Belt Kit

I have a Volvo MD22 / perkins prima M50 also, with a stock alternator.

I would be interested in knowing what the complete upgrade package costs and includes, especially if your man has a dual alternator option.

Cheers,

Jann

Re: Serpentine Belt Kit

Jann, how big of alternators are you looking for, I have a Prima 50 with a Balmar 100, works well on my 4x6volt golf cart bank. If you want two alternators give me an idea of size so I can get a price

I would advise each of you to deal directly with Electromaax...sounds to me this clubbing together to save a dollar...each with different motors is destined to get quite messy.

To see what they have...the various kits, go to Electromaax.com and take a look and make your own order....with honoured warranty!
