Sea Frost Engune Drive System

Hi There .

I am updating a lot of stuff on my boat and will be posting things as the project progresses .

Up next is a complete Sea Frost Engine Drive fridge and separate freezer .

This is a three plate system , two for the freezer and one for the fridge , it is still in my boat and working well , if you are close, you can come and see it running before I pull it out. It is R134

Engine Drive

It also has a 12v Grunet backup system if there is any interest in that as well .

Make me an offer

Regards

Re: Sea Frost Engune Drive System

If I get 500$ for it, I would take the time and carefully remove every thing, box it up , and send to the new owner. Of course the new owner would have to pay the shipping

The Grunert is free to a good home if you pick it up.

Regards

Re: Sea Frost Engune Drive System

LOL I just noticed my typo in the title .

I really need to read my posts before I hit post button .

I guess you all figured out that it should read "Engine Drive"

Re: Sea Frost Engune Drive System

From Sea Frost's Web site ED 3-plate twin valve system

ED 3-Plate Twin Valve System

It's the bottom photo with the triple plate

Wow it was expensive , $4150. I bought the boat with it in it , I am changing it to a 12 volt system and upgrading my batteries and generator to support it .

Re: Sea Frost Engune Drive System

In the process of removing from boat, just to update, all three plates have twin coils so they can be cooled with the engine drive system or the 12v system .

Regards.

Re: Sea Frost Engune Drive System

I've been considering building in an ice box on our new boat. This would be an ideal system I think. I looked at others. Just no sheckles in the boat project kitty at the moment.

Keep trying though, someone will pick up that deal. Have you posted any details on your updated system?

Re: Sea Frost Engune Drive System

Yes, it's a shame, this is really good gear .

Im updating the system, Pulling both the fridge and freezer and re-insulating with vacuum panels encapsulated in rigid blue board and installing two Danfoss BD50 from Novakool ( air cooled only,. )

The engine drive system is great if you use your generator every day or motor a lot , its puts out massive amount of cold BTU's

Tempting. Just don't chuck it out. I just can't swing it right now. Hull's still upside down!
