San Diego- Liveaboard

44 yr old Female looking to live back on the water again...Have been living back in my house for 9 years now and i have the itch to return back to my on the water lifestyle.
Looking to rent a boat with two rooms..
did this for 3 years in 2002-2005 at Shelter Island in San Diego.. would love to find this sweet deal again.. i am Full time 10 year AT&T employee and willing to pay $1100 per month- prefer power boat over sailboat.. mostly for the head room..
need full functioning kitchen (fridge, stove, working sink)
showers, laundry can all be done at the marina.
I am very serious in finding something- i will take care of your boat like it was mine, including monthly maintenance.
I am quiet by nature, and write stories and poetry in my free time.. I love to enjoy sunsets on the dock with my BBQ going and a few neighbors to share with.. if anyone has any idea who may be interested in renting out a boat to me here in San Diego.. please let me know.. this is a serious offer and i have experience.. please note, your boat will stay docked during my stay.

Slip rents in San Diego have skyrocketed in the last five years. When I moved my boat here in September 2010 I was paying $700/month for a 40' slip. My March 2016 slip rent was $1,065 for the same slip. The monthly slip fee has gone up to $770, there is now a $250 liveaboard fee, $15 shorepower hookup fee, and $30 parking fee. And, the WiFi service has been dropped so I have to pay $50/month to ATT for a WiFi Hotspot.

I pay $125/month for boat insurance, $65/month for a diver, $75 a month for county tax. Those expenses bring my total FIXED monthly expenses to $1,330 and I am not sure why I would rent my boat for less than what it costs me to keep in in San Diego. But, maybe I am missing something in this transaction.

A 45' slip (powerboat with two bedrooms and more headroom) is $925 plus all the other fees so I would guess the boat owner would expect at least $1,220 just to cover the slip fee and expenses.

And, our marina has a clause in the slip rental agreement, which prohibits sublets or long term rentals. That clause was added in 2013.

Maybe there are other marinas that are cheaper and more lenient but I know of four that are more expensive and much stricter.

Good Luck
