Re: Sailboat inboard electric motor system for sale

Hi there CSY man!
The boat is a Storfidra 25 , a full keel , double ender , that displaces 12000 lbs.
The electric motor is really cool…and really green…but I am planning on cruising and am more familiar with a diesel …and with the possibility of using Biodiesel and WVO.
If interested , shoot an email: lazystar@aol.com or give a call and we can talk details.
best,
J

Re: Sailboat inboard electric motor system for sale

have you used this electric motor? how fast did you go if you did? how far did you travel? what was the batt. discharge and recharge time? has this system been struck by lightning? What don't you like about this motor?

Re: Sailboat inboard electric motor system for sale

Yes…I have used it. It is in perfect condition, takes about 2-4 hours to recharge , and the batteries last approx 3-5 hours at cruising speed.
It's not that I don't like it…I am just much more familiar with diesel systems…and that is my preference.
Hope this helps!

Re: Sailboat inboard electric motor system for sale

Hi everyone!
Thanks for all the emails…here is some basic info:

I am trying to scan all the pictures and various info I have today.
The boat is a 25 ft. full keel double ender weighing 12000 lbs.

Mark II C 3kw-5kw brushless DC motor 24v-48v Kelly KBL 48201
L16 batteries , including re-combiners
cabling
WFCO WF9835 WF-9835 35 amp RV trailer deckmount converter *powerhouse PH3100Ri 3000 *watt inverter*

The system was professionally installed by:
Advanced Marine Electric Propulsion (AMP)
Mill Valley , Ca.
707 849 2628

If interested , please call 650 701 6452 or email me for pics*

The complete system cost $5997 installed , I would like to get $2500. That is for the entire system , minus the prop shaft.
Heading to Kinko's in a bit to make a PDF of the info I have.

thanks
Jon
