Re: 45' - 40' tri's that are race-fast but you can cruise, too?

I have just dropped my price $20k on my Condor, hull # 3. This is the last C40 built in house.Approx 1000lbs lighter than than others.2011 engine, New sheets, new halyards, new bimini, new shrouds, new Harken roller furler, new fuel tanks, newer instruments, adler barber frig, rebuilt rudder, new carbon compression post, almost new Quantum sail (gorgeous), 3 anchors, brand new spinnaker with ATN, almost new tramps, canvas interior very good condition. Complete new wiring (very nice)5 coats of epoxy barrier coat. I live 3000 miles away and even though she should be worth $65k, the economy is bad and it cost $ to store and insure, so I am going to give her away at $44k, or $43k without the spinnaker. See her on you tube under Condor trimaran. The refit in late 2011 was over $25k. She is in New Bern NC. Put the sails, tramps on and the daggerboard needs to be lightly sanded and she can be sailed away.

Re: 45' - 40' tri's that are race-fast but you can cruise, too?

Too bad the condor is getting it's price dropped but in over twenty years of sailing up and down the coast including the Bahamas, I never seen anyone cruise in a condor. Except for maybe a week if that in the Chesapeake. Marple's design like the Searunner and compared to the Condor is like comparing oranges to apples. The difference in interior volume, below back window views and overall stability to mention a few. Besides the economy is improving now and the value of these tested boats compared to new ones are a real bargain. The Condor is faster but I like to cruise in comfort.
