As I have recently been outed as a naysayer and no-nothing I've decided to sell my most vital piece of
offshore gear and
purchase a deluxe armchair for my future postings.
I have a Raymarine/
autohelm type 1
linear drive. This unit is in excellent condition and has
autohelm labels on it. There was discussion a few months back on this thread regarding the various aspects and qualities of the type 1 and it seems most agreed the autohelm models were the most rugged. I uses one a previous 20,000 mile
cruise with no issues or hiccups on a 18,000 lb
displacement yacht.
I believe this unit to have been reconditioned by
raymarine in the last few years (but don't have the receipts) and comes in a
raymarine box with the new style
hull mounting pivot. It moves in and out effortlessly when powered off and the
clutch locks up when
power applied and goes in and out properly, etc.
$600 includes
shipping in the US. willing to consider
shipping overseas if needed.
