Radar Tower 8' Stainless Steel, GPS,etc

The pictured radar tower came with our new to us boat and is surplus to our refit. It is Stainless Steel, 8' high and 2" diameter. There was a JRC 18'" radar mounted on the center platform, and the Shakespeare Centennial 8' antenna with cable and connection (included) on a side post.
The other post has a screw on fitting for a GPS antenna.
Includes a base mount 1.75" that the tower slides over, plus the 2 support brackets shown in the photo. $325.00
Local pick up Tampa Bay area, or you arrange shipping.
Custom unit costs well over $1000. NO RESERVE

Wish you were closer....looks like the ideal set up for the Simrad radar I purchased for our Bayfield 29C.

I really need to learn how to weld. Building these bits can't be that hard with the right equipment.

Hey Gunkylump
Learned to sail on a Douglas 32 back in 70s-nice boat, stiff and forgiving. Friend bought in Bayfield and we sailed it back to Toronto after one afternoon of sailing lessons (!). Survived worst storm at sea of my life one night on Lake Erie on that trip. Originally from Owen Sound, now live Tampa Bay. The tower came off our new to us Morgan 44 CC, as our refit includes a gimballed mast mount Garmin HD radar with the 4210 suite, GMI 10, AIS, etc. Preping for Caribbean cruise commencing this November

Hi Konakoma:

I originally hail from the Elliot Lake area, done all my sailing...so far...in the North Channel of Lake Huron. Pretty and picturesque! Owen Sound....had friends in Meaford a long time ago...he's passed since then.

Our Bayfield is up in Blind River, hope to get it down this way this season. If we were closer, or if I thought the tower wouldn't get damaged in transit, I'd be sending you some $$$. We purchased a Simrad NSS7 and 3G radar for our Bayfield.....lucky for me, my brother in law owns a fab shop in Windsor, and my son is a red seal welder...so I've got it covered both ways, but yours is a good deal in my opinion.

Enjoy your new to you vessel....they are on our short list as well...our long term plan is to retire and sail off into the sunset...to the Caribbean and who knows after?

Take care....send me updates on your retrofitting your new boat to your specs....I enjoy that kind of thing. Fair winds fellow Canuck!

Pic below reflects most progress to date. Hull cleaned, acid washed and waxed/polished. New California style dodger and full bimini, new matching sunbrella cradle cover for main. All stanchions removed, teak toe rails sanded and 3 coats cetol applied, stanchions re-installed and sealed. Toe rail fit to deck sealed with white Life Caulk all around. New thru hulls of brass replaced plastic. Main auxiliary and genset all fluids, belts, filters replaced. All new Garmin suite of electronics. Phew. I'm tired just thinking about it all.
Lots left to do.
Sounds like you are already well set up for a family built custom radar tower. Shipping this thing to CA was quoted at $285, and to Canada-forget about it.
Good luck.

It might be dirt cheap for all I know. However, I do know you pay a heck of a lot retail for this stuff.
