ProFurl NC42

I have what I believe to be a ProFurl NC42 furler and foil in 100% working and good condition, that I'm removing from my boat in favor of going with hank on. Not sure of the age of this unit.

Not sure about the price until I determine exactly what model it is.

Currently on 5/16" wire. Foil length is roughly 40'.

Anyone interested. Located in Maine.

I'm interested. Actually I need 2 furlers (43' and 36").

I'm assuming that the foil can be taken apart in sections? You'll need to take some pictures.

I'm in Minnesota.

Re: ProFurl NC42

Yup Ill be at the boat tomorrow, take some pics, get some measurements, see if I can find a model # etc... Stand by.
And yes, the foil can be disassembled, although not sure how easy it will be!

Switching to hank-on... wow, you're really taking this "sailing simplicity " seriously, eh?

Re: ProFurl NC42

I don't know if it's simplicity... I think it's just sensible. I'd like to have a removable inner forestay. And hank on stays'ls are just so much more fun to set! Plus I get week in the knees over bronze piston hanks...

Re: ProFurl NC42

I'm interested too. I'll keep an eye on your reply and the pictures.

Any idea of a price?

Thanks,

Doug

PS. Sometimes it is easier to just cut off one of the terminal ends so you can pull the wire out. You will still have to remove at least one of the set screws per section to be able to pull the sections apart. Gentle wiggling and pulling will usually get them apart.

Re: ProFurl NC42

Ok, got some photos, but didn't take the critical measurement (foil width). However, I'm 95% sure its a Profurl Classic NC42. You can see I didn't clean it up for the photos... so you get an accurate look at it. I think it will clean up nicely with some TLC. The dingleberry's who pulled my mast scratched the foil a little bit with the wire on the crane. There is a little rough spot where you feed the sail into the groove, but nothing you can't fix with a file. I do not know the age. But it has performed flawlessly for us the past year, since owning.

Re: ProFurl NC42

Ok, forgot to include price. $1700 + shipping.

And the foil is 40' confirmed.

Re: ProFurl NC42

It's finally done!
We are setting up screenings around the country (world) and looking for hosts. Not sure when DVD's will be available. Screenings and film festivals first. But it wont be long before we go to DVD... June maybe? But the focus is on screenings for now. Build community, better for press, etc.
