I have a 1990
Plastimo -man life raft
for sale. This life raft has
rubber inner tube chambers surrounded by a tough zippered shell, so
the inner chambers are replaceable if needed by just zipping open
the shell/exterior. I just inflated the life raft last summer and both
upper and lower inner tube chambers do not leak. The canopy inner
tube chamber leaked, but only because the plastic valve cover
cracked. I tried to order new inflation and relief valve covers from
Plastimo, but they told me I have to get the
parts from a certified
dealer (in other words
certification dealer). The
parts needed are
just plastic caps that have a built-in rubber flap for the valve.
Just a simple part but I cannot get it unless i get it re-certified and repacked.
The inner canopy rubber inner tube is replaceable
also if it did become torn or punctured, but it doesn't need
replacing. Just the valve cap.
The life raft was last certified in 1993, and I inflated it without
any problems on July 5th, 2008 so the inflation tank needs refilled.
