To recover the parachute or any sea
anchor deployed from the bow you should already be at an approximate 40 degree angle which means you can sail upwind relaxing the pull. Retrieve as you go. Or just use the iron
jib. Probably more difficult are those deployed from the stern which are the type I don't much like.
I'ld rather slow my drift rate and let the
weather pass over me than go along with it thereby prolonging the situation. Others choose different methods...that's just IMHO.
