Mustang HIT inflatable life jackets have been subject to a recall. These life jackets are apparently made in several locations. My inflatable life jacket with a harness (made in Canada) was subject to recall, where as some others made in China were not. (go figure) In any event, it would be a good idea for the seller of these inflatable jackets to confirm and mention whether or not they are included in this product recall.

You can go to the website for this product to determine if a particular jacket is recalled or not. If the life jacket is included in the recall, Mustang will "repair" the jacket to original condition - or so they say. You have to mail it to West Virginia and wait about 6 weeks for the repair.

I found out about the recall from the merchant that i purchased my jacket from - Defender, 2 days before a 1100 mile sailing trip. It was a brand new jacket and I was not very happy.

I called Mustang Survival, and both jackets are not included in the recall. Both jackets were made in China.

Hi, Yes both are available, if you send zip code I can give you the cost of shipping. The jackets are in excellent condition, and have been stored in my home for the last two year in AC.
