Motor Bracket for Avon Redseal Inflatable

I just acquired a used 10-ft Avon Redseal Inflatable but it lacks the mounting bracket for the 4 hp outboard I have (for which it is rated). Used or, if necessary, a new bracket eagerly sought. I can't seem to find a dealer who lists such so any leads in that department would also be appreciated.

I have an aluminium one looking for a home but you would have to pick it up from Rio Dulce Guatemala

Avon round tail tip
They row really well with seven foot oars as Avons have proper oarlocks

I think I have one in my storage shed. Will check and get back to you in a day or so.

Re: Motor Bracket for Avon Redseal Inflatable

That would be just wonderful. I am on the beautiful Housatonic River here with several nice small lakes nearby as well. With a proper motor bracket i can really explore thses lovely spots. Otherwise iseem to have jumped too quickly in buying this raft assuming that a bracket coule be come by easily.

Il keep my finges crossed.

Are you trying to torture me with descriptions of the unattainable? Or should i just row on down with my 7-foot oars to collect.

Sold one last week on eBay for $85. They are very hard to come by these days.

Talk about bad timing! Any suggestions on where i can look for another other one other than ebay. Do you think That with some reliable specs an aftermarket version of the bracket could be made? It looks from pictures to be fairly simple in design.

Re: Motor Bracket for Avon Redseal Inflatable

I've retrieved the bracket from my shed and taken a couple photos but find I'm not smart enough to figure how to publish them on this site.

Anyway, the bracket has a little rust on the tips that shouldn't be a problem to clean up. Will ship if you want to transfer $55 to my PayPal account and provide your address.

Re: Motor Bracket for Avon Redseal Inflatable

Here are the measurements for the receiving fittings on the stern of my Redseal:

The two black loop fittings on the flat upperside of the boat are 12 14/16 inches apart if measured on center. The inside diameter of each upper loop where the port and starboard top arms of the motor bracket should insert is 14/16.

The two black loop fittings on the underside of the boat, angled near the waterline I guess, have somewhat smaller receiving hole diameters of 10/16 or 5/8 as best I can measure. The spread between these two fittings is 9 7/8 inches or 9 14/16 inches on center.

I find no serial number or date of mfr on the inflatable but presumably the specifications on all Redseals should be the same, whatever the age.

Does this match up with your bracket? The only information I have other than the name is that the boat is rated for a 4 hp motor which mine is.

If so I will send off a Paypal payment as soon as I hear from you.

Many thanks,
