Re: Monitor windvane, Sailrite LSZ 1, Fortress, etc
Roger I think it is a 2006 unit. It says on the tag and will confirm. It has been at the house for most of its life and carried on board for coastal passages. There's a place in Charleston that does recert so check that out and factor that into cost. Other places do as well.

Re: Monitor windvane, Sailrite LSZ 1, Fortress, etc
I am interested in the monitor wind vane, any info as to age and condition. Tried to leave a PM but I guess your mailbox is full. I'll take it if it is in reasonable condition.

Sorry about that I'll check inbox now, no indication as to being full. Yes it is in great condition, only a small amount of surface rust which I intended to polish off but don't really see the point. The mounting legs are the ones w the surface rust, the actual unit is barely affected. But you'll need the correct mounting members for your boat anyway, and may want to upgrade to the newer one piece bracket which from memory makes installation easier, but is not necessary. The mounting legs are reasonably priced from Scanmar, who have plans for most boats, so it is a simple process, or that was my experience. I assure you it is surface rust, the kind of discoloration you find on any stanchions, etc. and will polish easily, but at this price point I'll ship as-is and let the captain decide where to spend his/her time.
Serial number is 42650596, feel free to check w Scanmar about the unit as I did prior to purchase. Although I hope a bunch of you don't hammer poor Ron with inquiries, so use your judgment. Actually I'll go ahead and call it sold pending funds to you Jmackay to avoid any confusion - since it is in better than decent shape - and will start deleting my messages now.
All linkages, blocks, and wheel adapter are in great condition and you can buy with confidence. If you have a tiller boat you can sell the wheel adapter. Comes with three vanes, one being a light air vane. Let me know if you want it, I have several more days to get it shipped out or will keep in storage room at the house for another few months.
Cheers

Re: Monitor windvane, Sailrite LSZ 1, Fortress, etc
What year is it, I have one on the boat now that needs to be rebuilt so I have all the mounting legs. Do you take Paypal. Cost to ship to 07852?
John
