For Sale: Monitor Wind Vane and some misc items for sale

hey!
i'm sorry it has taken me so long to get organized and put up my monitor for sale!
i bought it new, it has never been damaged.
it is in excellent condition.
i also have a 'cruiser's spare parts kit' which has all sorts of little fittings and a spare emergency tube. i also have a couple of mounting legs and brackets for a sweetheart transom.
half price from scanmar's current online price list: $2450

i also have a sandtone sunbrella mainsail cover. zip front. it's brand new, i never used it. 12'10''.



lastly, i have a PUR manual emergency desalinator. it is old but never used, is pickled and nicely packaged, looks fine.

How much are you asking for the main sail cover. I need one for a 29' (8.7 Columbia).

Bad Santa: i would like $345 for the PUR.
Weephee: i would like $150 for the mainsail cover.
Jim: i will check and see if i can find my original bill of sale. i can't remember exactly when i bought this. i had it fitted on a previous boat which i sold and i kept the vane hoping to use it on my next boat. that did not happen because i decided to go with a cap horn which was lighter and better suited to that boat.
i stored this monitor in a barn safely for many years. it was used for a couple of roundtrip florida-caribbean passages and antilles/venezuela cruising.
it performed faultlessly, imo its the best vane made.
i will pm you the year i bought it if i find the sales slip.
i can photograph the serial number if that helps; the vane is in excellent condition, ready to go.

RolfP, my monitor was mounted on a Holman designed Northsea 24. it is a classic English wooden yacht, 31', ~14,000 lbs, if i recall correctly. it has an outboard rudder and a sweetheart transom. the monitor was mounted with 2 arms on deck, (seen in above photo/they can slide out and are bolt fastened), which attached to plates and two legs of ss piping also attached to plates, their feet mounted to the transom. the four mounts, (legs/arms and plates), were made custom for me by scanmar and are included. every boat is a little different configuration but the mounting is actually not too complicated. if you go to the Scanmar website they go into detail and have photos of the various methods of mounting the vane.
