Is it just me or are we seeing more and more commercial like (cost sharing + fee) posts? I can't really put my finger on it, but boats that seem to be running for pay trips. Not just cruisers.

Hello Charles, I have no statistics on the proportion of boats/posts requiring a contribution to running costs. Perhaps you could do a little investigation on that.

As regarding the "commercial like", the amount in question clearly falls short of typical charter fees and is used to cover maintenance expenses.

Well... from my perspective it a case of each having some of what the other has...
You want some time on a boat and have money (maybe not a lot)..
He has a boat and needs some money to keep it decent enough to make you happy...
Fair Trade... if you don't think so.. don't go...
Its good for all these folk we keep telling to 'Go Sail'.. before buying a boat or whatever...
Can't afford to Charter a boat to yourself.. go sail with Idpnd at a 10th of the price...

according this article the global black market at an estimated $10 trillion is second only to the us economy,how long before many juristictions will have the public money to police sport!!
