Hookah direct drive scuba diving equipment sales. Hose diving hookah

I went with the Honda Has powered unit - trust it more better than VDC or VAC

Re: Looking for hookah system

fstbttms---please tell my what specific parts/pieces are suggested/recommended for a build-it-yourself 12vDC Hooka (or 110vAC Hooka). I was planning on doing that, until a couple ofd dive shop operators talked me out of it, saying that unless you buy a certified air supply you are taking a real chance with you lungs. I had bought a Sears oil-less compressor to use (still have it)married to a reconditioned 2nd stage SCUBA regulator.... but based on their advice I backed off. Please advise on your recommendations. I need something to clean the bottom of the boat, and occasionally go after a stuck anchor (40'-50' max).

The LDSs you talked to are either uninformed or ignorant. Or maybe more interested in selling you scuba gear. In any event, while I prefer a higher-end compressor than the Sears unit you have, pretty much any oil-less compressor is safe to provide breathing air. As long as the air hose you are using is rated for breathing air, you are good to go.

Re: Looking for hookah system

OK....which compressor(s) would you recommend, and what kind of output should I be looking for? What kind of filter should be on the air inlet? and what pressure do you operate at (compressor psi output).? Thanks

$1495???
I only paid $899 for the Hookamax 12v with 100 feet of hose direct from the company. Rated for 50'.

Anything else I saw for less money started looking cheap, Chinese and... risky.

That was the number quoted on the website from the link in this thread.

I'd like to get a 12v hookah. What should I pay?

ETA: and where do I find it.

I use Thomas compressors exclusively. I can't give you a part number for the 12-volt model used in the Air Lines rig, but if you Google "Thomas 12-volt compressors", you'll find it. You want something that can provide at least 100 psi at the highest CFM you can find. The stock intake filters on the Thomas compressors are fine but I recommend using an inline particle filter in the air hose as well.

As far as operating PSI goes, I usually start at around 75 psi and then dial it up as the piston rings wear. When I can't get plenty of air at 100 psi, time to rebuild the compressor.

I found the Hookamax at $899.00. It lookes like it's a different company.

Any idea, (from anyone here,) if they offer a discount at boat shows?

Thanks Kenomac.

I kinda figured they did, but I only use it maybe five times per year, so I couldn't justify spending $1500, besides... I have full scuba onboard.

When it eventually poops out, I'll have a spare anchor for the dinghy.

12V Electric Hookah Diving Kit with Regulator Gold Dredge Pool Scuba | eBay

Don't bother with this unit.

The one I brought didn't have the right fitting (easy enough to fix), compresses air is drawn over the motor and the piston stalls with no load.

If you don't believe me, I've got one I'll sell you at half price.
