The year built is 1986.
Only two owners, 2nd owner has owned for twenty years.

The boat is immaculate, upgraded and in as good a condition as it was when purchased twenty years ago.

Price: $174,500.00

Last boat sold of this vintage sold for $189,000. to a private purchaser.

I have sold several of these Peterson 44-46 boats and they are unreal fast offshore. Nice designs and by far one of the fastest designs in a center cockpit that you will ever find.

Maybe the asking seems high, but my personal opinion as a broker is I think all these old classics that have had refits, eventually they have to start going up some in price. The costs of replacement for a boat like this is nearing $600-700K (and I'm not talking a beneteau or jeanneau that you can buy new for a lot less) and anyone who has refitted a project boat knows you'll have a ton spent, not to mention the time it takes to do it.

These are nice boats and just like a lot of other older designs, there is not anything like it being built today.

If the rigging has been reviewed thoroughly, and the shrouds changed ... it is worth to a conscious buyer with little time for refitting (2years).

On top, nothing alike out of current boat shows...

Someone asked earlier about the rigging, tanks and engine hours.
Engine hours 2975 generator hours 1701 generator is a Kubota/Entec fore and aft stays unchanged since my ownership spin halyards original, other halyards original or newer Full set of duplicate halyards on the mast port and stbd running backstays
Tanks, fuel and water all original, main sail about 6 yrs, current jib and staysail original, rigging lines variable, shrouds original.

The boat has travelled once to Mexico and once to Seattle other than that it has been used as a weekend sailor.
I am helping the owner a friend of mine, post the boat here. He is internet posting challenged. The owner is an upfront honest guy, he and his wife are getting older now and are thinking of moving to a powerboat.

What a fine example of a KP! Can anyone think of a Peterson design that wasn't a great, comfortable sailer?

A little smaller but faster, lower maintainence, Doug Peterson design, US built and half the price. Just lowered to $89k and she is not sitting at a dock unused; being cruised and improved in the beautiful SF Bay Area.
