I purchased this
radio as an
emergency back-up to my
ICOM IC-M502 radio when I had to hire somebody to bring my
boat back from the islands after I was Med-evac'ed back to Orlando. So it was never used and never even out of its original box. It cost me about $200 from West
Marine.

The Icom M304
VHF Marine radio proudly follows in the tradition of the M302, continuing to offer quality, durability and ease of use. This radio features 25 watts of output in an attractive, water-resistant package. You get High or
Low power output (25 watt or 1 watt). It includes the American, Canadian and International VHF marine channels. The front panel features a very large, backlit LCD shows large channel numbers and channel names of up to 10 characters. Priority Scan and Normal Scan are supported. Four levels of LCD backlighting are available. The speaker's high sound pressure level delivers loud and clear
reception. Background
noise is blown away! And the microphone is tuned to pick up voice, while reducing ambient
noise.
The M304 has built-in DSC capability. The DSC (Digital Selective Calling) allows you to send a formatted
distress message in an
emergency. Position data is automatically exchanged between the two stations. A total of 30 DSC address IDss (9 digit) can be programmed and named with up to five characters. This radio is submersible to a 1 meter
depth for 30 minutes. The
installation of the IC-M304 is not limited to covered areas. Be assured, the IC-M304 can handle all types of wet! Equivalent to JIS Grade 7.
