Gulfstar 37 AC 1977, $35.000, Florida

1977 GULFSTAR 37' Aft Cockpit Masthead Sloop for sale - or trade.

It's time to move on for me, maybe with another, slightly smaller boat if the opportunity comes along, or buying a boat back in Europe, where I live. Flying back and forth across the pond isn't working out for me anymore.

I bought this boat in early 2014 and added a lot of gear and basically turned it from a total project boat into a good caribbean cruiser. Sailed it around for two years and invested $60-70k in upgrades and maintenance. This boat was designed and built when Vince Lazarra, the owner of Gulfstar Yachts, after building crappy motorsailers and sailboats eventually teamed up with Ted Hood and let him draw good boats. Built sturdy. Mast is keel stepped.

2015/16: New topside and bottom paint. New day tank 15 Gal. New Garmin touchscreen Chartplotter and Garmin HD radar combo (not in the pictures yet, brand new). New AIS transceiver with separate antenna. New SS gear / radar pole with Garhauer outboard lift. New 4x 100W flexible Renogy solar panels with MPPT charge controller. All new bronze thruhulls and seacocks.

2014: 4 x new Trojan 6V Golf cart batteries. New DSC Standard Horizon Explorer VHF, new wiring and antenna. New Raymarine multi function display with new instruments and transducers (depth, temperature, speed, masthead wind) with interconnected NMEA2K network. 6 x new cabin fans.

Gypsy Spirit has a V berth, a two-door acessible head with shower and pump head, two extendible salon berths, a U-shaped galley with compressor fridge, double sink and a three burner force 10 stove/oven.
The port and starboard cockpit lockers are so big and deep you could turn them into full berths as a big project. The boat's layout is ideal for a couple as is now.

All interior lights are warm white LED, some of them red/white combo lights. Raymarine 4000 wheel drive autopilot. Perkins 4108 paper-rated 50hp diesel engine with 2500 hours, starts on the first touch.
Comes with an older APEX RIB Deep V with an Yamaha 15 horse 2 Stroke and lot's of cruising gear.

I of course hold the title. The boat is in Miami now, but may be moved to Floridas West coast in July. Price tag is $35k, and I would trade for a smaller 35ish boat if in good condition.

Hey there,
An Alberg 30, although certainly a cool boat, would be a tad too small for me. Thank you for the offer, though!
