I am interested... Can you confirm the material blend of this Pentex main? SHould things work out... Can you simply box it up for the UPS Store, and I can Paypal you the Shipping costs? Or, how would you prefer?

Many thanks....

Re: Free mainsail

The material is 8.7 oz Pentex made by Shore sails in Texas. Pentex was touted a few years ago as the next big thing in woven materials but has proven to be not very resistant to UV rays, hence had to be really careful to cover it up right away after sailing.

I can box it up and ship it to you - where are you located?

Re: Free mainsail

Yes, still here in South Florida. You would have to pay the mailing costs though. Sail weighs about 50-60 lbs.

Re: Free mainsail

I'm local and I'll pick it up. I have a friend that makes bags out of used sails. She would be happy to have it. Bob Tigar 954-781-5910

Richard, I think I will give it to Bob - it is much easier. I had a few "wanters" like Evelyn L II who made me box it up, get a shipping quote and then disappear. This is just a CF favor to anyone on the forum that can use it for any purpose.

Re: Free mainsail

I have a spectra main, P=51;E=18. Old but worked on J 130 for two years in Mexico. Sail is made for Harken track and has 16 grommets in luff. I have semi full battans for the sail, two reef points. Asking $300. In San Diego area. Estimate the sail weighs 50 lbs.
