Fountaine-Pajot Athena

Our 1995 Fountaine Pajot Athena 38, “KIT,” is in superb condition and ready for blue water cruising. We have lived and sailed on this boat for 4-6 months a year for the last 8 years, in that time have completely refitted the boat and added several improvement over the original design with an eye for safety and comfort . The biggest changes have been installing a hard top Bimini over the rear deck with removable lexan inserts to keep the helm dry and allowing for more photovoltaic panels. We also installed an electric operated lift cradle for the new dink which keeps it secure in all seas (and harbors). 4 cabins and 2 heads; the bridge deck contains full galley, navigation station, salon table/ seating and abundant storage. Bottom/sail drives/rudders completely stripped, repainted. Boat is currently in Marathon, Florida. For more info email sak54757@yahoo.com

Would you consider trade for property or is owner financing available secured by property?

More pix and a reply to above

here are a few more pix, please let me know if there is something specific you'd like to see a pix of. At this time we want to sell the boat outright (another becons) so, sorry, no trades or owner financing available.
The view from the bow shows the lexan inserts, they are easily removed.

Sak, I really like the cockpit improvements. Did you do this yourself? Do you have plans and could I get more pics of your upgrades? website perhaps? I have the same boat and I'm always thinking of improvements. I'm really interested in the sliding door. Is this much stronger than the original?

I have the plans for the hard top bimini arches in autocad, which I'd be happy to send you when I get home (it was on the home computer I designed it). The slider you see is a screen door, the original lexan is still there, just behind the screen. Ah, a dry helm! When I fabricated/installed the hard top it was a great improvement, we have often joked that the French are far tougher than we, leaving the helmsman out in the weather...
I also, on autocad, have the plans for the elctric dinghy lift/cradle, be happy to send those along too, if you wish, maybe a good bottle of rum for each?!

Did you have to raise the boom to fit that hard top or is the boom still at the original height? I agree with Tellie, your improvements look great. I have an Antigua 37 and have been trying to puzzle out the best way to get some cover over our cockpit. I'm sure you won't have any trouble selling her.

we were due for a new mainsail at the time we did the hardtop, so, yes. we raised the boom about a foot and then extended the roach on the new main, thought being there is more power up top anyway...which turned out to be correct, this still one fast condo!

Xantrex no longer an option

I sold the 3Kw inverter, there is still the .9Kw unit, should you need something bigger I'd be happy to install one.
