We are selling the above
outboard because we have moved up to a 20hp (big heavy dinghy).
It is a "medium" shaft length (20") and weighs 101 lbs.
The
outboard runs fine and comes with a spare prop, planing fins, gas tank, full OEM
service manual and many spare
parts. It does not come with a
battery.
The
engine burns some
oil - approximately 1/2qt in 2-3 months of constant use.
The starter is new and the
engine supplies 6A
charging to a
battery. It can also be used as a manual start without a battery, of course.
Two years ago, a bit of
corrosion in the
exhaust manifold caused
exhaust gas to leak into the cover and the engine would run roughly. I epoxied the leak on the manifold and it has run perfectly since.
The engine is presently located in the Rio Dulce,
Guatemala and we will not be able to ship it from there. So if you are interested, you will either need to be in the Rio, come to the Rio, or wait for us to leave the Rio (assuming we don't sell it first).
The engine is currently installed on our
dinghy, so if you are in the Rio you can take it for a test spin.
