My
boats power strategy was to never start the
engine to charge the
battery banks. When
passage making the
water generator would produce 10/12 amps, this really worked well, when crossing the Atlantic 4-days out the
engine died and we pressed on another 22-day and produced more
power than we could use.
At
anchor with the
single blade (very quiet) "rig mount"
wind would consistantly provide 8/10Amps depending on
wind speed.
Along with the W200 water/wind kit comes a complete set of spares; 100' torque line, high speed spinner W/2-weights, 2nd
generator, bearings/brushes kit, retrive funnel, and modified wind blade.
