Hi Skip,
The fellow I bought it from was a motor
maintenance fanatic. There wasn't anything wrong with the motor but he completely stripped it down and rebuilt everything, including replacing the
fuel pump even thought it already had a new one installed (I have that now as a spare). He rebuilt it because he was going to use it on a Boston Whaler he also completely restored but turned out 15hp was too small, so he
sold it to me. Every seal,
gasket, bearing, etc. etc. was either replaced or brought up to new specs and the entire motor was repainted. The only thing he didn't do was buy new decals for it (although he told me I could find them on eBay for about $20). I've had it a couple of years but only put maybe a dozen hours on it, and most of that time was an occasional fresh
water flush just to keep everything clean and lubricated.
I don't know the exact weight of the motor but from what
Google tells me it should be around 75 lbs. It's definitely not light, but it's more awkward to hand carry than it is anything else. I put dolly wheels on my
inflatable so the furthest I have to carry it is 2 or 3 feet, from the back of my truck to the transom of the
boat (or the rack). I was actually
shopping for a 9.9hp but turns out the 9.9 and 15 weigh the same and this was in such good condition I couldn't say no.
I'm selling my 12' inflatable as well (it's also like new) just haven't gotten around to taking pictures of it yet. If you're looking for a motor + inflatable I can cut you a really nice deal on the pair.
