Re: ESPAR/Eberspacher Airtronic D5 12V

SuperV,

Interested but not having gotten than far in my purchase yet I don't know the full parking list. Is anything significant to the install not included, excluding labor of course?

Thanks

Re: ESPAR/Eberspacher Airtronic D5 12V

The most significant pieces are the unit itself, the boat kit (the heater can also be used in trucks/cars - for boats there is a wiring harness, diesel pickup tube with some poly tubing, a mini controller and some other stuff), the muffler and the temperature sensor. The EDiTH unit is for diagnostics - not strictly needed, but good to have if you're offshore or in a country with little or no support. The listed glow plug is a spare. The rest are parts to move the air - you'll have to figure out where you will install to see if they are sufficient. I bought enough to safely get the air away from the Airtronic initially. After that the plan was to get either aluminum or sheet-metal ducting from a home improvement center for the rest and connect them via the ten joiners. For example, in my mind it's best to use a place that is midpoint between outlets if you plan on having two. Otherwise somewhere you can get fresh air and route the exhaust close-by. An aft lazarette would be ideal in view of exhaust gases. You will also want to make sure that the duct runs are as straight as possible - no tight bends other than the connectors. For more details read the install instructions.
