This set of two wedges allows
engine alignment to micrometer tolerances. Rated load is 1500lbs (250 pounds/square inch area) and therefore may be used pairs as vibration dampening pads. These wedges are
maintenance free and also impervious to gas,
oil, grease, sludge, and saltwater.
Bright red thin wedges specifically designed for
boat diesel engines. They are inserted between the
engine mounts and the boat's structural "rails." Normally you would use them on the two forward engine mounts, but depending upon how much your engine's
transmission to
propeller flange is out of alignment you can put them under whichever mount needs them.
Normally you would use the nuts and washers that are part of the engine mounts to raise/lower/tilt the whole engine to get the proper alignment between the
propeller shaft flange and the
transmission half of the flange. If more adjustment is needed then these wedges are used to "reset" the range of adjustment available from the engine mounts.
