Hey everyone, got a really nice DigitalYacht fluxgate compass / heading sensor here. It's fully waterproof (IPX7) for external mounting if needed but I kept it belowdecks in a very dry area. It has been well stored and is highly reliable and vey accurate. Self-compensating so can be used with any brand of equipment. NMEA-0183 output at 10hz update speed so suitable for radar MARPA overlay and AIS.

Hugely useful for AIS since it keeps your heading accurate when you are bouncing in a heavy seaway instead of your heading swinging everywhere.

Also really handy for you "course up" types on the chart plotter in those situations too.

Unit comes with a 14 meter cable (actually almost 15 but I didn't measure how many cm I cut off for connecting it) and works like a charm.
