For folks seriously interested. Just hire a good surveyor and buy a couple of hours time to look over the boat, maybe do deck soundings and get back with a telephone report. A very efficient to screen a candidate boat. surveyors typically give you more than your money's worth.
It may be an issue of semantics or perhaps I'm just confused but I read on the boat website that the mast is stepped at the deck, yet some pictures seem to indicate that the mast may continue all the way to the keel.
Can you explain this feature of the boat a bit further?
What you see below is the cherry planked covering of the compression post (jack post ? )
This transfers the loads in the mast to the keel.......as in all things nautical pros and cons. I think there is a good thread on that here.
You can use Sailboat Listings - sailboats for sale . This is free with the option to have a featured ad for one-time $25 fee. I have used it to sell two boats. I hope this helps and nice boat by the way.
Your Compass 47 looks lovely. Please advise if she is still for sale. Also if it is possible to get direct contact details (as well as pictures and more detailed specs) that would be great. I am brand new to the forum and do not yet know my way around. Having said that I note there is a button for email links. I am trying that in the hope it is "legal" and gets to you. It is kholley@srk.co.id.
