LightSpeed launched in 1997 at Lombardi Yachts Virginia,
USA weighing 6.5 tons.
In 1998 she won the cruising
multihull of the year.
Superior build quality might be a understatement. If you want Lombardi to build you a new A42 you'd be looking at $700,000. according to
this ad on Yachtworld Maybe you could get one built for less in
Chile or SA. But, at the end of the day we all know you get what you pay for. Plus a
new boat needs to be outfitted $$,$$$ to cruise. My asking price is about half of the cost of a new Atlantic 42 and a pretty sweet deal for the right buyer.
I've had no qualm about outfitting LightSpeed with the best
gear available.
In September of 2010 a major
refit including new
Yanmar 3YM30 engines, new
Yanmar SD20 saildrives, new Gori folding propellers, new
radar, new
autopilot and more.
In 2011-2012 new
interior cushions, new SS standing rigging, house
batteries and more.
In 2013 new
anchor chain,
bottom paint (Sept 2013), inverter/charger and more.
I could post the price here, but I'd prefer that you took a look at the
dedicated website for the latest upgrades, photos, videos, location and price.
Thanks for your interest and let me know if you have any specific questions.
PS
I'm in discussions with my wife about completing a
circumnavigation before we sell the boat. I've sailed 55,000-60,000 miles in the last 8 years, but it would be fun to throw in another 15,000 to complete a proper
circumnavigation. If we go this
route delivery almost anywhere in the world might sweeten the deal for a prospective buyer.
