BOSE 321 entertainment system

BOSE 321 Media centre, x2 speakers with bulkhead mounting fittings, remote control, subwoofer does NOT work. 110V. $100 for the lot.

We are in the Abacos (Green Turtle Cay), heading towards Marsh Harbour in a week or so. Can send photos.

Subwoofer fried when charging Apple laptop. For some reason the laptop draws crazy amounts of current, causing the system to surge. Laptop no longer charged on board!!

Re: BOSE 321 entertainment system

Can you not just fix/replace the subwoofer? If the subwoofer amp itself is fried and BOSE main unit has a subwoofer line out, you can get one of those home theatre subwoofer+amp units.

My own limited experience with subwoofers on boats is that most installers don't know where to place them to be acoustically efficient; as a consequence owners jack them up and the subs are the first to blow up when it's party-time.

Re: BOSE 321 entertainment system

Hi Lake Effect, we were planning on removing it in any case (along with a working microwave) as we are live aboards and it simply uses too much power unless we are in a marina. There are some great compact systems around these days that are much kinder to a sacred power supply. It came with the boat and is a good quality set up, just not suitable working or not working for our requirements.
