I saw a couple really nice candidates on here but they are not in California. Looking for something ready to go. Something of the sort off atom voyages. Those type of boats. Like CD28, Triton, southern cross 28. I actually pretty open on the boat as long as it is a blue water capable design and in nice shape.

How about a Rawson 30 ? Ready to go with new rigging and good sails(one's new) . My friend (2 boat Chris) has one for sale - it's already in the sea of Cortez - in Guaymas. I think it needs fresh batteries, but not much else. Rawson 30's are stout, full keel, go anywhere boats. He was asking $8,500. $75 bus ride to Guaymas, and you're cruising ! A pocket cruiser is usually less than 26 ft. Think Flicka, Vertue, etc.

Of the boats northoceanbeach mentioned, probably the Southern Cross 28 would best suit his plans if it is in good shape.

However, the real point of my previous post is that there are still smaller brands of boats that have good reputations for long ocean passages, and if nob wanted a pocket cruiser, specifically, he was looking outside his size range as the term is usually used. I apologize if I offended anyone by being somewhat terse.
