Blue Water Cruiser Morgan OI 51/57 loa

Morgan Out Island 51’ 1976. Asking $175,000.00 USD Lying Singapore/ Malaysia. Full of fuel and ready to go..

Highly modified from original Ketch design. This vessel has never been chartered and was dry stored for ten years in Oregon where her mizzen was removed and replaced with a radar arch, a bowsprit with platform, a stern platform, her boom and fore-triangle extended to compensate for the loss of the mizzen. The centerboard was removed and the trunk filled with lead.

Cabin Layout

~Chain locker forward.
~ Forward V berth converted to workshop with excellent work surfaces and storage.
~Guest stateroom; forward starboard is a guest cabin with upper and lower berths, a small drop table and drawer and hanging locker.
~ Master stateroom; The owners stateroom is a great aft cabin with centerline full queen bed with and custom two section pillow top mattress new in 2011. There is lots of storage, two hanging lockers and bookshelves.
~The galley is located in the walkthrough on the starboard side.
~Top loading refrigerator and large freezer.
~ Three burner Force Ten propane stove with oven and broiler (new 2008).
~Deep stainless double sink is located athwart ship near companion way.
~Pressure hot and cold water.
~Manual fresh and salt water pumps for galley sink.
~ Built-in Microwave oven.

Deck and Hull Equipment

~ Aluminum double spreader keel stepped mast with internal halyards and S/S rung steps from deck to masthead.
~ Rigging, new in 1998 1x19 stainless steel stays and shrouds. Double back stays.
~ Roller furled jib and roller furled staysail (Profurl) Full batten main + spare main and storm trysail and jib. Older ½
oz. asymmetrical spinnaker with furling chute.
~ New mainsail cover (2011)
~ Custom heavy bow pulpit with monster rollers.
~ 30 kg Bruce anchor with 300 ft of newly (2012’) galvanized chain.
~ Custom aluminum radar arch.
~ (7) hatches with bronze openings.
~ Bowsprit has extra high stanchions with triple ¼ inch S/S lifelines.
~ Custom stern pulpit has S/S rails and teak grate.
~Cabin tops with thick teak overlay.
~Custom cold molded hard dodger safety glass and opening hatch.
~ Cabin top grab rails.
~ Self bailing cockpit.
~Fresh water hot/cold shower located in cockpit.
~ Salt water deck wash down system with three way valve to convert to spare bilge pump
~ Two hydraulic windlasses, capstan type on bow.
~ Hull construction is heavy Airex-core fiberglass. Deck is balsa-plywood w/ fiberglass encapsulation.
~ Transom has beautiful teak overlay.
~ Custom deck lazarette is wired for SCUBA compressor and has room for fuel tanks.
~ Propane storage in vented aft cabin locker.
~ Full tropical shade canvas with through hull fittings can also be used for rainwater collection.
etc etc much much more.. ~ Heavy ½ inch S/S plate protects her bow from above the waterline to the keel and serves as lightening and SSB ground.
~Hydraulic drum Windlass on stern w/ 50 ft. of 3/8” newly galvanized (2012) chain and 250 ‘ 5/8 nylon.
~ One type IV horseshoe with attached MOB pole with drogue and strobe

Engine/ Mechanical Equipment

~1991 Perkins 6- 354 engine and Borg Warner 72 c transmission with 2.57 reduction.
~ Onan 4 cylinder generator.
~Automatic Halon fire extinguisher in engine room.
~Engine and fuel compartment ventilation; natural and 12 volt blower.
~ Engine access via engine room or large removable panel in galley, generator in engine room, both sides of both
engines have excellent access.
~Auxiliary electric fuel pumps & valves allows owner to move and filter fuel between tanks.
~ Electric heater in aft owner’s cabin.
~ Storage for engine parts and repair equipment in engine room.
~Many spares and lots of maintenance gear included.
~12 volt refrigeration (compressor new in 2005).
~ Freezer via 120 volt generator or inverter or shore power.
~ 220 volt step down transformer to 110 volt.
~ Complete workshop manual and parts manuals for engine, generator and most equipment.
~ Four manual fire extinguishers.
~ Oil cooler for transmission.
~ Racor fuel filters (2).
~ Automatic and manual bilge pumps.
~ 1 ½ Stainless alloy propeller shaft through flax type packing gland through a clamped pedro hose and log exit
mounted double cutlass bearing to a 21 “ three bladed bronze propeller.

Electronics and Navigation gear

~ AIS by Vector marine (new in 2008)
~ Two VHF radios, one in cockpit and one at navigation station.
~ Cockpit VHF radio has hailer and automatic fog horn.
~ ICOM SSB radio has automatic tuner and insulated backstay.
~ Furuno FAP 55 model hydraulic auto pilot.
~ Two Standard Horizon depth sounders.
~ Swoffer knot meter.
~ Raytheon 32 mile radar with open array antenna.
~ Stereo CD with Ipod input with cabin and cockpit speakers.

Electrical System

~ 110 V, 220 V and 12 V systems
~ Shore power cords
~ Onan 12.5 Kw generator with Heart 2500 inverter/battery charger
~ Battery isolators
~ 120 V Balmar alternator w/ smart regulator
~ Meters for AC and DC voltage and amperage
~ Two 75 watt solar panels
~ 220 V available in stern locker for SCUBA compressor.
~ Masthead tricolor with anchor light, deck and stern floodlights, spreader lights and steaming light.
~ Florescent and LED 12 V lighting throughout.
~ 110 V heat exchanger hot water heater (11 gallon)
