Avon Hypalon 10' RIB Dinghy With Sunbrella Cover

We have a 10' hypalon Avon fiberglass bottom dinghy that we would like to sell. Had have had it about 2 years and used it about 3 months .

It does not have any leaks, but it does have a high volume foot pump, 2 fiberglass Avon seats and repair kit. We also have clear title.

Boat is built tough with a double fiberglass floor and large 17" tubes. Located in Lighthouse Point, SE Florida.

Any reasonable offers considered.

Our boat is in Key Largo & I''l be there by the end of this week. I would like to see it. I assume it will handle a 4 cycle outboard. Thanks, Huey2

Re: Avon Hypalon 10' RIB Dinghy With Sunbrella Cover

I own one like that, it is a FINE dinghy. I have it mounted on the bow, resting in chocks. The double floor keeps your feet dry. I purchased mine in 1987, had it repaired once for a small leak that I caused. Whomever purchases this dingy will get one of the best dinghies ever made IMHO

EDIT: I did however cut off those black rubber mounting ties used for the bow cover. They left black marks on the hull of my old sailboat... and the bow cover sucked.

We used our old 6hp Ob and it easily planed with 3 people. I think a 15-20 hp could work easily and probably move it at 25mph...

Re: Avon Hypalon 10' RIB Dinghy With Sunbrella Cover

Good morning SilverP40. I'm Steve Talley in Staunton, VA

Your dinghy might just be that 'perfect' one for me.

I have an Allied Seawind II (32 feet) on the Chesapeake Bay. Planning the 'big cruise' soon - probably starting in March '13. In a search for the perfect dinghy. We are planning a road trip to Florida sometime in January. If you still have the dinghy then I would like to look - maybe before then.

This is a 10 footer - I assume that is overall length? So that the length from transom to bow is probably something like 8.5'? That is what I am hoping. WE are planning to carry dinghy forward of main mast - like 'foggysail - on chocks upright covered - so easily deployed with a halyard - limited space but the best we have.

Thank you for providing any additional info. Maybe its not smart to give my cell phone out on an open forum but here goes.

540-292-9701. (Steve Talley) My boat is Flicka Hull #38. Actually she use to 'reside' in Florida - Fort Lauderdale.

This dinghy really is too big for your boat. Don't do it. Take a look at something 8'6" or 9' absolute max. You'll save buck$ on a smaller outboard too.

The dinghy is a late 90s model, not sure the exact model. Is is the Avon 10' , double fiberglass floor, double seat, Hypalon model (I think all Avons are Hypalon). Has about 2-3 years use, rest of time was stored in a barn.
Price is not really a secret, I am thinking $550. You can always PM a message too...

Regards
