Looking for a good running or solid rebuildable Atomic A4
engine to put in our
Catalina 27 sailboat (1972 vintage). Only engines I've been able to find are on
east coast or Bay Area. Has anyone repowered their sailboat with a
diesel or planning to or otherwise know about a good A4
engine?
Preference is for a local San Diego/Orange County
motor that's recently rebuilt and in great condition. Would be great if it had a fresh
water cooling system (or only used in fresh water) and other modifications from Moyer
Marine. If you know about these engines, you're likely also a sailboat owner and know that they have been out of production for at least 30 years--so it's all about the
rebuild date and
maintenance history.
This needs to be a reasonable deal for both buyer and seller. Just want to get back on the
water as soon as possible.
